#AllieforFlint
Allie (she/her) knows what it's like to work hard and get things done. From long days cleaning blight to advocating for Flint kids, Allie puts her all into any job she's given. She understands the importance of a person's character and standing up for what is right. Allie's pledge to you is to bring these values: hard work, grit, character, and advocacy, to her role as 7th Ward City Councilperson.
It was a 4th-grade field trip to the state capitol building that changed Allie's life forever. She saw democracy played out before her eyes and was fascinated by the process of enacting ideas into law.
Allie learned parliamentary procedure in college as the Political Chair of the Michigan Model Arab League and she spent over a year researching the success of the community education model of the Black Panther Party in the 1960s and how it has redefined education to this day.
In 2017, Allie joined AmeriCorps and was excited to be part of a true community education model and build relationships with more Flint organizations. She developed programs supporting school attendance and youth volunteerism, while learning more about how to write grants and engage partners. She currently works as a service coordinator for those living in public housing and writes policies supporting individual growth through a holistic approach. Allie is excited to bring this knowledge to Flint City Council and serve her community.
